The pack will be doing a Super Springtrip this year to Wonderworks in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and hiking at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Scouts will be participating in a Cub Scout only overnight at WonderWorks Saturday April 20th. WonderWorks calls themselves an indoor amusement park for the mind. It is a very hands on attraction that teaches kids science in a fun interactive way. There is also an indoor rock wall, ropes course, and laser tag. Scouts will have access to WonderWorks at 6pm and the scout night includes an extra hour of exhibits after the center closes, unlimited pizza and laser tag, and a special scouting patch. Scouts and parents will sleep in the unique “upside down” lobby and have a hot breakfast in the am (pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, and potatoes). Scouts and families will need to leave WonderWorks by 730 am. Please bring your own pillows and sleeping bags/mats. This event is limited to just scouts ages 5 and older and their parents.
Sunday we will go to the Great Smoky Mountains for some hiking. Time permitting, we can also visit Sugarland Visitors Center. We will determine which hike to do once we know what scouts are coming but there are several family friendly hikes in the Sugarland area. Families and siblings are welcome to join in for the hike on Sunday.
Please see attached fliers for additional information and tentative schedule! We currently have 20 spots held at Wonderworks for the overnight but need to put money down by February 28th to keep the spots. We may be able to obtain additional spots but for now it will be first come first serve to those that BOTH sign up and pay. Click here (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050D44ACAE2BA6FF2-47595651-pack) to sign up your scout(s) and adult chaperone(s). Please Zelle $50.38 per person attending to the troop at patrick@pack15charlotte.org. There is no entrance fee for Great Smoky Mountains NP, however starting March 1st, there is a $5 daily parking tag fee per vehicle. Families will need to purchase the tag on their own online or onsite prior to the trip.

oin your fellow MCC Scouts and carry an oversized American flag along the 9 block parade route in uptown Charlotte.
MCC Scouts are once again participating in the Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade on Wednesday, November 22nd. We will begin gathering in the staging area around 5 p.m. The parade steps off at 5:45. Our staging area is at the intersection of Montfort Point and College Street uptown. All participants should be in uniform. No objects are to be thrown into the crowd. Eating, drinking, pushing strollers, and cell phone usage are not allowed during the parade process. There are plenty of parking decks on both ends of the parade route. I would suggest parking on the South end of Tryon St. and walking the 9 blocks to the staging area. That way, once we reach the disband area, you will be closer to your vehicle. Thank you for participating in this year’s parage. It will be a fun experience for everyone involved
